Terms of Service

Effective February 1, 2026

By accessing or using Global Trade Briefings ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Service description

Global Trade Briefings provides regulatory intelligence briefings covering trade, customs, and tariff developments across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The Service monitors official government sources and delivers summarized updates via email and web dashboard in English, French, and Spanish.

Informational purposes only

The content provided through Global Trade Briefings is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, customs, trade compliance, or professional advice. While we strive for accuracy by extracting data directly from official government publications, we do not guarantee the completeness, correctness, or timeliness of any information.

Users should independently verify all regulatory information against the original source documents before making business decisions. Links to source documents are provided with each briefing item for this purpose.

No professional advice

Nothing in our briefings should be construed as customs brokerage advice, legal counsel, or a recommendation to take or refrain from any action. For specific compliance questions, consult a licensed customs broker, trade lawyer, or qualified professional in the relevant jurisdiction.

Subscriptions and access

We reserve the right to modify subscription tiers, features, and pricing. Active subscribers will be given at least 30 days' notice before any pricing changes take effect on their account.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Free tier users can unsubscribe via the link in any briefing email. Paid tier users can cancel through their account settings or by contacting us at hello@globaltradebriefings.com. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Intellectual property

The editorial summaries, translations, data organization, classification logic, and website design are the intellectual property of Global Trade Briefings. The underlying government publications remain in the public domain as works of their respective governments.

You may share individual briefing items for personal or internal business use. Systematic redistribution, resale, or republication of our briefings in whole or in part requires our written permission.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Global Trade Briefings and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, without limitation, damages arising from reliance on briefing content, missed regulatory deadlines, incorrect duty rate calculations, or any other business decisions made based on information provided through the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100 CAD, whichever is greater.

Availability

We aim to deliver briefings on a consistent weekly schedule but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may temporarily suspend service for maintenance, system updates, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Modifications to terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers via email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.
